Relationship Registers
Relationship Registers or Civil Union Registers are run by many State governments and allow couples who are not married to have their relationship or civil union recognised by the law of the State.
For Migration purposes couples who register their relationship are not required to demonstrate that they have been in their relationship for 12 months are eligible to apply for a Spouse Visa once they have received their Relationship Document.

*Fees – Includes the cost of obtaining a certificate (across the counter) which in some states is additional to the cost of registering a relationship.
